I'm so glad you found me! The journey to where I am now was not linear. Starting over became an amazing part of my story to finding HOME.
Short Story: Creative Midwest girl (what 8 year old girl keeps the Ethan Allen catalog?) gets practical Accounting Degree, works for stressful Corporation, raises 2 daughters, gets transplanted to Maryland and is forced to uproot again.
Real StoryMoves were just part of life early as an Air Force Kid from California to England and back "home" to Illinois. Living in rental properties don't allow you that sense of permanence a Home provides. Once I had my own home, I realized home was a safe place to retreat to after stressful days. Making a beautiful home for my family was a pastime and source of creative inspiration.
And then it wasn't just a hobby, it was about survival. My 20-year marriage ended, and I only had my girls and my faith. God works in mysterious ways. I wasn't looking for a new husband, but I ended up with the best partner, friend and husband I could have asked for.
I thought a date with a guy I met online would be a good distraction while I tended to important matters like selling my house and figuring out how to support myself financially. I bought a true "Fixer Upper" home and my new contractor boyfriend went all in with me on the renovation. Did I mention it was an 1898 old barn home???
Our business was born during those first few months. It mirrors our belief in the redemption of 2nd chances. The homes and projects are just another way to share what we value most-creating beautiful homes that bring joy.

10 years later...Life is not perfect, but it is so good and we just strive to be better every day. My hope is that I can offer some encouragement to you as you scroll. Maybe my posts give you an idea that sparks a project and helps you distract from life to hope for Better Days.
